"Not yotze the obligation of tefillin after using Smartphones"
Satmar Rebbe continues to struggle against Smartphones: "I will not stop talking about the severity of the issur and will arouse against the terrible decree. No bigger loophole than it"

Less than a week after a stinging drosha delivered by Satmar Rebbe on Rescue Day of 21st Kislev, in which he repeatedly attacked those who hold Smartphones which are not filtered from free browsing, the Rebbe dealt with the issue again, in a talk he gave to the Yeshiva Gedola of Mesivta - Satmar in Kiryat Yoel.
The Rebbe pointed out to students that after the drosha on 21st Kislev, an avreich from the community came up and said to him indignantly: "Rebbe, I listened to your drosha. Apparently you do not know yet what a non-kosher device, particularly a smart device, contains. If the Rebbe would know how destructive it is, it is likely the podium in front of the Rebbe during the drosha, when he spoke of the severity of the ban, would fall apart when the Rebbe would bang on it..."
"Probably," the Rebbe added, "I really do not know. But, 'one witness is faithful in issurim' and I have to believe this avreich, who G-d forbid does know what it is. So I'll talk more and not stop talking of the severity of the ban. A certain merchant who does know what the nature of the device is, he with his simple understanding also said that one can not be yotze in the Mitzvah of Tefillin for a full week after using this device...".
"So I will not stop evoking this horrible decree, which I think that these days there is no bigger and more bitter loophole than this breach, both for avreichim and ba'alei batim, and certainly among bochurim," the Rebbe promised to sanctify a battle over the issue .
