Canadian juvenile court ordered to transfer 14 children of the Lev Tahor cult to foster homes, Canadian media reported.
The discussion was conducted in the absence of the cult members, who were satisfied with the representation by a lawyer. Court ruled that children undergo a medical examination and parents to deposit their passports.
The center of the cult was until recently situated at St. Agatha province of Quebec, but recently 200 members fled to Chatham Kent Ontario, where they intended to settle .
The judge ruled that enough evidence has accumulated indicating that the minors are at high risk to injury due to child marriage, physical and mental abuse and neglect of their health.
Community of about 200 people, half of whom are children, were under investigation for social services in Quebec due to a number of issues including hygiene, children's health, and claims that the children do not learn the curriculum in Quebec.
The children are between the ages of two months to 16 years. The 16 year old girl is mother to a 2 month old baby.
