Stone terror in Jerusalem: a two years old toddler was critically wounded on Asher Viner street in East Talpiot, Jerusalem. The family traveled by car, when suddenly stones were thrown at them. It remains unclear whether the baby was injured by a stone or a Molotov cocktail. She was taken by MDA ambulance to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in the city.

The police are searching for the stone throwers, apparently Arabs.

"When we got there, we saw the baby with a bleeding head injury. She was apathetic and dazed. They told us she was hit by a large rock in the head while travelling by car," said Rafael Herbst, paramedic of MDA. "We immediately started to give her medical treatment and transported her by mobile intensive care unit. During the medical treatment, she began to recover and regained consciousness. We defined her in fair condition and transported her to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital."

Hadassah Medical Center spokeswoman Rachel Goldblatt says that a girl of about two years came to the trauma unit of Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem. Her condition is medium, she is conscious and suffers head injury. She was treated in primary care and taken for further testing and treatment.

During the second candle lighting ceremony of Hanukkah, the Prime Minister discussed the incident and said that, "We will not rest until they find the criminals."

Minister Uri Ariel commented on the infant's injury Jerusalem from stone throwing: "A serious incident which joins a long line of dangerous events. I strengthen the Prime Minister to take decisive action and rapid elimination of the 'Stone Age'."

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat called following the incident, "to increase the penalties for stone throwing."

Barkat came to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem this evening, and visited the affected infant. "We need to make clear to everyone that a stone is a weapon for every purpose and should be treated that way. It is impossible that whoever is arrested for throwing stones will be released and return to throw stones, we must not accept this and must increase the punishment for that," said Barkat, adding that he plans to help the government and the police to bring an end to the phenomenon and to return the security to the.
