Another disaster on Chanukah: Girl burned in boiling oil

A girl suffered moderate to severe burns on Sokolov Street in Petah Tikva, volunteer medics of Hatzalah 'branch' Petah Tikva, gave her primary health care.

Allen Malka from Hatzalah, said: "The girl was burned when a pot of boiling oil being prepared for donuts fell for some reason and the oil spilled on her.

"I and other paramedics gave her a primary health care at the scene, and then she was evacuated for further medical treatment at the hospital."

MDA spokesman reported that at 19:51 MDA Yarkon received a report that a girl was burned on her body in boiling oil while donuts were being at her home in Petach Tikva.

Medics and MDA paramedics provided medical care and evacuated the 4 year old girl to hospital in Tel Hashomer with about 30 percent of third degree burns - in all parts of the body.

Hatzalah spokesman said: "It is important to remind parents and adults to watch and warn the children from contact or proximity to boiling oil in the kitchen or Chanukah candles unfortunately causing disasters every year."
