Rishon Lezion attacks Lapid: "Worse than his father"

Rishon Lezion, Hgr"y Yosef, continues the tradition of his father delivering weekly lessons on Motzei Shabbos - and as Harav Ovadia Yosef, his son too combines reference to topical issues.

Yair Shriki, Army Radio reporter, published today (Monday) a recording in which Hgr"y attacks the Finance Minister Yair Lapid, during the lesson.



Among the things, he compared Lapid junior to his father, "his father would talk a lot, but he, the Minister of Finance, is far worse: he does - not just talk."
Hgr"y referred to the legislation flood on issues of religion and state, and in particular to a bill relating to the authority of the rabbinical courts, "Tomorrow he will bring up a bill to reduce the power of the rabbinical courts; to move some important powers to the courts.

"Every other day you hear some new law. They only want headlines. They know they did something else against religion. I do not want to talk; there are many things that vex. Shame Maran passed away. If Maran was with us alive we could have come to consult with him, use his power, but he left us in the lurch, but we will fight this thing, we will not sit quietly."
