Crisis in Torah world: Lapid blocks budgets for yeshivas

Finance Minister Yair Lapid stopped a budget of millions of haredi yeshivas, as reported today (Sunday), by Channel 7, in the name a senior official in the Jewish Home .

A senior in the Jewish Home party says that the budget designated for haredi publics does not reach its destination due to the opposition of Minister Yair Lapid, and that despite repeated requests the Minister of Finance expresses strong opposition to transfer funds these yeshivas.

According to him, Minister Lapid transferred in recent months all the funds to Zionist yeshivas that encourage enlistment in the IDF, "The Jewish Home fought hard for money for both Zionist and Haredi yeshivas, but Minister Lapid agreed to transfer the money to Zionistic yeshivas but halts the money for Haredi yeshivas."

"The Jewish Home goes a long way so that the money is transferred. But Likud does not share these efforts. It is mandatory for the Likud members to whom the yeshiva world is important to take immediate action to transfer funds so that the world of Torah not be destroyed."

"There are those who declared war on all Zionist and Haredi yeshivas, and are trying to pass laws that will bring serious harm to all yeshivas. The laws include illogical sanctions and other personal persecution on yeshiva students. Our war is one for all the yeshivas," the official said.
