Avrech who fell from a ladder - passed away

Tragedy in Beit Shemesh: Rabbi Alter Moshe Yaakov Kaufman z"l passed away this evening (Wednesday) after he was critically injured after falling from a ladder.

The avrech, 40, fell from a ladder at a height of five meters, and lost consciousness. He was evacuated in a difficult situation to Hadassah Ein Kerem , where he underwent a CT scan and was diagnosed with internal bleeding in the head. He was put into surgery, and the doctors fought for his life. But as mentioned, he passed away this evening.

Azriel Weiss from Hatzalah, who handled the event along with the MDA MICU team said: "This is a man who carried out work on a ladder. Inexplicably he fell and was injured."

The deceased was a Dushinsky chassid, born on 12th Tamuz ת של"ג to his father Hrh"ch Rabbi Eliezer Kaufman who serves as a gabbai of the Tshakawa Beis Medrash in Jerusalem, and his mother Hena Bluma.

He is survived by his nine months pregnant wife, daughter of Rabbi Chaim Yehoshua Dushinski, and eleven children. On 5th Shevat his eldest son Yosef Kaufman is expected to get married. He was in the U.S. and he was called in light of his father's condition and is expected to arrive in Israel at 6:00 in the morning and hear the terrible news.

The deceased was a man entirely of kindness and helping others, a Hatzalah volunteer and volunteer for a charity at the organization of Rabbi Avraham Cope.

He served as gabbai of his shul in Beit Shemesh

"This is a catchall of grace," said Meyer, a resident of the neighborhood, "His day revolved around chessed, without any compensation. He ran to help each person, if electrical work, release elevators, breaking doors, everyone knew his address."
Only last Erev Shabbos he completed the construction of the Satmar Beis Medrash Kahal Yetev Lev on Ohel Yehoshua Street in Beit Shemesh, and gave himself over fully for the renovations of the building.

The funeral will take place tomorrow 9Thursday) at 10:00 from his home on Sefas Emes Street in Beit Shemesh, will pass by the shul on 29 Chazon Ish Street to Shamgar and to Har Hamenuchos where he will be laid to rest.
