Shabbos fight: marginal youth hospitalized, 'Chutznik' custody

On Friday night a violent brawl erupted in RBS, the marginal boys and yeshiva students from the United States. During the brawl a marginal youth was injured and was taken to the hospital.

On Motzei Shabbos police arrested two yeshiva students, the father of one of them, and four marginal youth. After interrogation they were discharged. But the arrest of one of the yeshiva students, 18, was extended by five days, until tomorrow (Thursday) at 12:00 pm.

Yair Golan, assault suspect's attorney told B'Chadrei Charedim that so far his detention was extended twice, and tomorrow probably will file police statement demands for indictment and request for detention until the end of proceedings.

According to the Yeshiva students, who study in Telz - Stone, they came to stay at their friend, who just moved with his family from the U.S. to Beit Shemesh, and on Friday night went to freshen up in the park.

During their stay in the park, they met a group of 14 marginal youth. A verbal fight took place which ended with nothing. But one cell phone of one of the marginal youth disappeared, and those suspected that one of the yeshiva students stole it.

Marginal youth began to pursue yeshiva students with sticks, and located them near the house where were staying. Violent altercation ensued between the parties, during which a marginal youth eas injured and evacuated to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem, where he was treated with a broken jaw.

According to the marginal youth, the boy is a resident of Beit Shemesh attacked the victim with a hammer and crowbar. Police attribute him with the offense of aggravated assault.
