The question of conversion of the criminal sanctions set by Perry Committee on economic sanctions is the focus of a bitter argument between Habayit Hayehudi and Yesh Atid.

This morning, two days after the attack of the Minister of Science Yaakov Perry at Shabbos culture in Tel Aviv against Habayit Hayehudi, revolving around the political issue of conscription law, MK Ayelet Shaked chairman of Habayit Hayehudi, went out with a acute attack of her own.

Conversation with journalist Ze'ev Kam from Ma'ariv, she responded to the statement by Perry, that his party would go to the end on criminal sanctions law recruitment, including costs to leave the coalition and says: "If the Minister Perry wants to resign from the government he is welcome to retire from it. Haredim will be happy to take their place instead of Yesh Atid, so that the words of Perry are not really a threat. "

Shaked also accuses that Perry and his party are using aggressiveness and lack of democracy around the ultra-Orthodox conscription law."Contrary to Perry, I believe in democracy and not a dictatorship of Yesh Atid, which doesn’t allow the committee headed by me to decide on sanctions."
However, Shaked later clarified to Ma'ariv that despite what it intends to try to reach agreement with the other members of the committee on the question of sanctions, and to form consensus around economic sanctions.

Shaked added that respect to the decisions adopted by the vote to be held there. "If we do not reach an agreement, we will leave the decision on the question of sanctions and the majority vote will determine the committee," she said. "I'm going to bring it to a vote in any case until the middle of December."
Relation to the sanctions themselves, Shaked said to Ma'ariv that mistake of Yesh Atid is to be right but not wise. "We all want Haredim to enlist and join the workforce," she explained. "The difference between us is what will lead to more recruitment. And because the ultra-Orthodox perceive as a crime against criminal issue, it just will backfire. We are still sitting in quite a few meetings between us and try to reach agreement."

Conversely, Yesh Atid officials made clear yesterday that once the issue comes to a vote on the committee, there is a majority of criminal responsibility section for haredi shirkers. According to officials, besides Shaked and Orthodox Knesset members, other members of the committee support criminal sanctions, including the prime minister and the defense minister himself.
