Tension prior to the remand hearing of Rabbi Yoram Abergel morning (Sunday) in court, with respect to the spin in Netivot.
According to lawyer Menachem Rubinstein to B'chadrei Charedim, Rabbi was released today by mutual consent. "But there is an argument between us," says the lawyer, " the police want to keep the rabbi away for 25 days from Netivot. But we will fight for it that it would not be prohibited from the Rabbi".
Yesterday (Motzei Shabbos) hundreds demonstrated at Bar Ilan in Jerusalem against the continued detention of the rabbi.
The demonstrators blocked the road for hours and threw stones at vehicles driven by Arab drivers.
During the demonstration, police forces were accompanied by horsemen to the place, and 28 demonstrators were detained for questioning - after they tried to block the intersection.
With force of orthodox community activist David R. Gloiberman, they released one of the detainees, the grandson of a well-known proponent.
Eight other protesters were released this morning.
According to some protesters, the police sprayed water at the grave of Harav Ovadia Yosef, without it being necessary. However, other claims, the police had to do this after stones were thrown from the cemetery.
In court this morning the four detainees will be brought for further discussion, including Rabbi Yoram Abergel itself. According to police sources, the case is not dying, and real development is indeed expected in the coming days.
Recall, on Wednesday the Magistrate ordered to release Rabbi Abergel to home arrest, but the police filed a stay of execution and appealed to the District Court - that made the decision and extended his detention for four more days.
The suspicion is that Rabbi Abergel operated the offender Shalom Domrani to threaten Rabbi Yaakov Ifergan the X-rays, in order to prevent him from supporting Ayal Mesika as mayor of Netivot, against Yehiel Zohar, who won the support of Rabbi Abergel.
