Are renewed struggles repeatedly between Habayit Hayehudi and Yesh Atid expected to change the government?
Science Minister Yaakov Peri, estimated this morning (Saturday) during Shabbos culture in Tel Aviv, that indeed differences between these parties would divide the government, and they also may create an irreparable rift.
"Political issue and negotiations with the Palestinians, the vast abyss between us and Habayit Hayehudi. Sooner or later this will also split the cabinet, and then one of the parties will have to abandon the cabinet table," said Perry.
Perry surprised especially when addressing the issue of Orthodox recruitment as a significant issue: "Yesh Atid will not allow Orthodox recruitment law without recruiting obligation. Attempt by Ayelet Shaked to remove the conscription law, and replace it with negative financial incentives, which are non-effective – will strip the law passed by the government," wrote Perry, noting that he was "afraid that Habayit Hayehudi will try to pierce the law."
"We are in the final stretch, we hope that the law will come to a vote in late November, Yesh Atid will not agree to the removal of conscription law, it cannot be that this applies to the secular and not to the haredim."
Construction in the settlements, Perry referred to the Housing Minister Uri Ariel: "and his reckless move of bomber construction in the settlements sabotaged Israeli interests, the most sensitive timing of Israel - with the U.S., Europe and the Palestinians. This is a real sabotage at the most sensitive of Israel."
