Litzman called on Netanyahu: "Do not sell us stories"

Plenary commotion: MK Yaakov Litzman disturbed tonight (Wednesday) a speech by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and was removed from the plenum.

Discussion on housing prices, determined by Regulations section that allows for 40 members of the Knesset to require the Prime Minister to attend the plenary discussion and respond to speakers from a pre-determined topic.

But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chose to treat his opening remarks, the Iranian issue and the issue of housing. This angered Litzman who was furious and shouted at him: "Do not sell us stories. Start to address the decrees against the weak, the destruction of religion, increased poverty."

Knesset Speaker Yuri Edelstein, called upon Litzman to order three times, but after he continued he was removed from the plenum.

Netanyahu then addressed the issue of housing and accused the previous government, the Olmert government, responsible for the rise in real estate prices.
"The government before me made a terrible decision, maybe she had good intentions," he said. "She wanted to send half a million people to the periphery, and it did so by increasing housing prices in the center. But what actually happened was a gathering in the center."

"In September 2010 we established a team of ministers to overturn the decision and get some new resolutions. First is first to produce a full and open the Galilee and the Negev. We decided to invest 27 billion and a half shekels, build roads and infrastructure trains to the Negev and the Galilee. It changes the face of the country."

He even mentioned the decision to transfer military bases Zrifin and Tel Hashomer to the south from the center, which release large land reserves for construction areas.
Towards the end of his speech Netanyahu called on to Knesset members to help him move during the current session the planning and construction reform which he said would be a big step towards resolving the housing shortage.

Olmert's office said that Olmert received articulated in its Resolution for the Israeli public, the establishment of thousands of housing units in the periphery, was not implemented, due to the Netanyahu government, which began its term in early April 2009.

"The Netanyahu government dumped this important decision in the trash, causing the widening gap between the periphery and the center and great damage to the public and the housing market as a whole. Bibi apparently forgot he was prime minister for five years. Five years in which he scattered dozens of baseless promises and established dozens of committees that left them no nothing. Than statements of reforms remain the only bells and whistles, instead of real actions on the ground".
