"Help us stop the ban on circumcision"

CEO of the Association of Jewish organizations in the EU turned today (Wednesday) to the Israeli government for help on the ban on circumcision in Norway.

Health Minister of Norway Bennett Wei pushing a law to regulation of circumcision, after reading Commissioner responsible for public safety, Ann Lindern to prohibit circumcision of minors and the local Jewish community is worried.

Rabbi Menachem Margolin, CEO of the Association of Jewish organizations in the European Union (EJA) says that the call of the Commissioner Ann Lindern, to ban on circumcision is phony and does not rely on scientific facts.

"Medicine, global health institutions unrelated to Judaism, determine circumcision is important preventive health and disease," says Rabbi Margolin. "The statement that circumcision is an emotional and mental injury is at best a lack of early learning of facts, and we fear that this is another case of streaming after the attacks of fashionable supposedly liberal and pluralistic, against anyone who does not like them."
Rabbi addressed in an urgent letter Israeli Health Minister Yael German and CEO of the National Council for the Child, Dr. Isaac Cadman, to please evacuate their counterparts in Norway, and will indicate from destructive bill promoting Jewish communities in the country.

"Norway holds only seven Jewish circumcisions a year," he says, "and the fact that the Commission finds it necessary to engage a resolutely small number of circumcisions, is a concern we are again witnessing anti-Semitism under the guise of protecting human rights."

A few weeks ago the Council of Europe, that circumcision is a violation of human rights, because it is damaging the bodies of children who are unable to decide for themselves.
