Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Tuesday) visited Gaza division, marking one year since Pillar of Defense. During his visit, Netanyahu received security briefings from Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Gadi Eisencott and Southern Command commander Gen. Sami Turgeman.

"We are marking one year since the mission. Figures are sharp, there is a decrease of approximately 98 % shooting high - trajectory. Whole shooting, mostly ineffective - amounted to 35 shootings. Certainly achieved a significant deterrent," he began, adding that "However, we are not kidding ourselves, we know that Hamas and other terrorist organizations continue to arm themselves in different ways, they try to develop the underground, i.e. tunnels, and we have to find solutions to all these threats, while simultaneously pursuing strong deterrence we have achieved it and we have it."

"Ultimately, this deterrence is achieved by knowing the enemy that we will not tolerate attacks on our soldiers and our settlement, and we'd retaliate forcefully - that the foundation of our deterrent. Means to serve this feeling and this policy, but it is deterrence."

"At the same time, we worked to close the Sinai border, and the name of Israel is actually the first country largely succeeded, one can even tell if absolute close its borders. Past three months were zero hits on Israel. This is a very big success of the government, the army, we established the principal of and other intelligence systems constructed over this obstacle."

"These two things - the war on terror, the ongoing deterrence and finding solutions against new threats on keeping our borders - these are the main tasks that we are committed to their implementation, not just in that sector."

At the end of the visit the Prime Minister concluded: "Hamas produces and stores missiles and rockets were collected from residential buildings and aiming their fire at Israeli citizens. Israel will keep on keeping international law but do not sit idly against the terrorists carried out two war crimes simultaneously preparing to fire on Israeli cities and hiding behind civilians in Gaza. However legal and moral right to hit full fires as accurately as possible those who fire indiscriminately on citizens. Responsibility to collateral damage that could be caused to civilians in Gaza Hamas rests. I wish to express my appreciation and the appreciation of the people forced the IDF and security sector."
