Antwerp: Independent Orthodox education in jeopardy

Harsh and serious decrees on the Jewish- Orthodox education in Antwerp:

A. It is required for each child, from age 12 to 16, to learn and be tested on all school matriculation exams, mathematics and more.

B. Requirement to teach the boys and girls, in all institutions about caution during adolescence. The precautions should be followed between man and his fellow man, and between man and woman.

If one does not learn and teach the request of the Ministry of Education a fine will be imposed and finally the boy and the girl will be taken away from parents because the family does not give children the education they deserve.

To date has been spent over 80 thousand Euros for hiring lawyers, who will try to skew things, and refine the applications.

Following the decree, an emergency meeting will be held tonight (Sunday ) at the Zichron Moshe hall, Antwerp, for all Jewish residents in the city, called by all institution heads where leaders will share things in general education .

One expected to attend is the Pshavarsk Rebbe, although not a usual participant at conferences in Antwerp. Likewise, organizers expect thousands of parents who will come to hear about the terrible decree.
