How did Hgray"l's attacker holds a bris?
This morning, the court stopped proceedings against Yehudah Aryeh Leib Pilz who attacked Hgray"l, stating he was unfit to stand trial • Rabbis allowed him to appoint a messenger and hold a bris for his son • lawyer told B'Chadrei Charedim on the affair: "I came to the court with prayer shawl and tefillin for him and it turned out they forgot to bring him - I ran to Abarbanel"

This morning (Thursday) Yehuda Aryeh Leib Pilz, Hgray"l's attacker was return to hospitalization and discontinued the criminal proceedings against him, after a long stay at the Abarbanel Psychiatric Hospital.
As determined by the judge, "the defendant was not responsible for his actions at the time of the offenses and currently is unfit to stand trial."
Meanwhile, this morning his son's bris was held in Rechovot. Request to release him for the bris was out of the question, but his lawyer Attorney Azriel Shaul Kravtsov came to the detention in court accompanied by a tallit and tefillin so that the father could participate in the bris via phone.
" I was surprised Israel Prison Service forgot to bring Pilz to the court," he says , " so I ran to Abarbanel Hospital, where after applying pressure was allowed to enter the fathers room ."
Pilz wrapped in a prayer shawl and tefillin, the lawyer dialed to one of those present at the bris, when both sides turn on the speaker phone. Father appointed envoy to circumcise his son, and he even gave the name Yisrael Meir to the circumcised newborn.
A couple hours later the father was taken to court and sent to the psychiatric hospital in Be'er Ya'akov.
Halachic issue in this case is not simple: Can a person mentally incompetent, appoint a messenger?
Rabbis with whom the family consulted, relied on the judgment of Rav Elyashiv zt"l, and ruled that the father could also appoint a messenger in his condition.
