Rabbi Eliezer Berland, community leader of Shuvu Banim, who fled from Israel to Morocco after the police investigation was opened against him, will build educational institutions, a campus area and a neighborhood which serve the Shuvu Banim community in the city of Marrakech, as journalist Shimon Ifergan reported on 'Mako' site.

According to the followers of Rabbi Berland, he decided to build a completely identical copy in Marrakesh of the Shuvu Banim yeshiva in Jerusalem. According to local media reports in Morocco, Rabbi Berland means to establish a borough which will also include apartments for hassidim, some of whom have been living in Marrakech, in harsh conditions.

According to the report, estimates are that the moving the yeshiva will cost over a million dollars. Funding will come from dozens of wealthy Jews from the United States, Switzerland and Canada who come to the Rabbi to get his blessing for their businesses and donate generously sums of money to help him survive and support his followers. According to reports, the rabbi has already received donations of millions of dollars to finance the construction projects he is planning.

According to the report, the head of the Jewish community in Marrakech, Zakhi Kadosh, helps Rabbi Berland get a permanent residence permit in the country, allowing him to build the project without bureaucratic problems.

According to his followers, the Rabbi also intends to purchase burial plots in Morocco, thinking he will never go back to Israel.

Recently a large article was published about Rabbi Berland in one of the newspapers in Morocco "Yabiildi" (The Land) which stated, inter alia, that if the complainants against Rabbi Berland file a complaint in Morocco, a local investigation will be opened against him, and he may be arrested and tried, although there no extradition proceedings between Israel and Morocco.

"The Rabbi is very interesting to papers in Morocco," said a familiar Jewish community factor in Morocco to Mako. "He became a famous person mainly because of articles published about Israel and the very fact that senior Israeli criminals have deployed their sponsorship on him and help him."
