Buenos Aires: Hundreds demonstrated on Friday in the Argentine capital to protest the cooperation with Iran in investigating the attack in the community..
State President Cristina de Kirchner, also attacked the head of the community Guillermo Borcher, and hinted that he is in contact with "foreign intelligence organization which knows of a new terrorist attack planned to hit Argentina."
Argentine government signed an agreement approved by Foreign Minister Hector Timerman, with his Iranian counterpart, regarding the establishment of a committee to investigate the terrorist attack in 1994, in the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, which killed 85 people and injured 330.
Foreign Ministry spokesman in Tehran said that there is no intention to investigate the Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Wahidi, mentioned in the evidence submitted to Interpol, as having initiated the attack.
Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, in Latin America, Sergio Widder said that it places the agreement in a ridiculous and shameful light, and must be annulled immediately.
The agreement was brought before the State Senate for validation and caused a great stir in the country. Guillermo Borcher community leader said that the agreement could cause another attack.
In response the president reacted with a Twitter message that "what does he know to articulate something so serious? If there is another attack following the agreement with Iran, who will be its originator, who will take it into practice? Which countries or intelligence agencies will do it? We have to know what the community president Borcher knows."
