Hgry"l Weiss – Rabbi of the Badatz kashrus system

The Eideh Charedis appointed today (Thursday) Rabbi Label Weiss, one of London's rabbis, to serve as rabbi of the kashrus system.

Rabbi Weiss will move to Israel in the near future, and the appointment is considered the appointment comes due to the desire of Gab"d Rabbi Yitzchak Tuvia Weiss. Various estimates are that immediately after taking office Rabbi Weiss will be appointed as a dayan and a member of the Badatz.

So far, Rabbi Weiss served as one of the Kedasia rabbis, Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations in London.

His grandfather the Minchas Yitzchak zt"l, wrote of him in the past in the permit instruction given to him: "plunged into the many and mighty waters in the sea of Talmud and poskim. His awe precedes his wisdom, and has a great knowledge of Torah."

The appointment is considered a closure within the Eideh Charedis, since more than 20 years it was declared at the funeral of the Minchas Yitzchak, that his grandson, Rabbi Leibel Weiss, will be appointed and serve as a Badatz member in Israel after the shiva.

The decision was signed by former and present Badatz members: Hgrm"a Freund zt"l, Hrab"d, Hgry"m Dushinsky zt"l. At the lost moment the appointment did not take place. Today after many years, the will of the Minchas Yitzchak was fulfilled and the circle was closed.

In addition, Hgaon Rabbi Avraham Yeshaya Strick was appointed as Manager Rabbi of the Kashrus Board.

Recalling, a month ago the Badatz member, Hgry"y Blau who held the role for thirty years passed away. Since his passing there was a huge gap and the Gab"d expressed his will to fill his place with the appointment carried out today.
