Hours after the exposure in Behadrey Haredim of the near marketing of a new Smartphone – which will receive the approval of the Rabbinical Committee for Communications, models of the future advanced device, were brought by the officials of the committee to home of Hagaon R' Chaim Kanievsky, for the sake of familiarity with the instrument.

As published, after the committee members reached empirical data proving that a large part of the hareidi community continues to own Smartphones, which most of them need for income, the committee began developing a new device – which meets the elementary needs, without forsaking the values and principles set by Gedolei Yisroel.

Rabbis Committee surrendered: present a Kosher Smartphone

According to the testimony of those close to R' Chaim, although the device does not include an option to make cellular calls, it turns out this option will be possible to be cracked, eventually with time.

R' Chaim addressed the issue and explained: "The role of the committee is to find solutions wisely, so that it will not be a decree which the public can not stand up to. What is permitted - there is no reason to ban. When they will satisfy what public needs, they will thereby prevent it to resort to prohibited devices and inappropriate content."
