Palestinian suspect: tried to run over policemen at checkpoint

A Palestinian is suspected of trying to run over police officers in Samaria: During a Samaria District police activity, on Route 55 near Karnei Shomron, a police checkpoint was placed.

A Palestinian vehicle that arrived broke the police barricade and began to flee, further on there was another police blockade and the car continued to flee and went up the spikes were deployed on the road.

At this stage the driver began to drive back in the direction of police officers who were behind the vehicle, and there was suspicion that he intends to run them over.

As a result, one of the officers shot at the vehicle wheels but the car continued to drive back and the officer fired at the vehicle itself. As a result the driver was injured and evacuated for medical treatment. Another passenger who was with him was not hurt, and was arrested and taken for interrogation.

The vehicle is being checked by a rigger and the cause of escape from the police is being investigated.
