The only Synagogue in Auschwitz in danger: a brand plucked from the burning, the synagogue was built in the town during the Holocaust in the village of Auschwitzinim, not far from Auschwitz, which operates to this day, is in danger of collapse.
"Fox News" news network revealed this week.
Apparently the ravages of time and weather took their toll on the rickety structure that houses the synagogue and damaged foundations of the structure.
According to the report it is going to collapse if immediate repairs are not made.
In the year 2000 12 million dollars were invested for necessary repairs made to the structure. Now the synagogue needs an additional 333,000 for renovation costs.
Thomas Konchitz – Chairman of the Jewish Center says that the synagogue was built in the first place on unstable ground, and mishnayos are learned every day in the synagogue for the memory of the millions of Jews murdered in Auschwitz.
Many visitors who come to visit Auschwitz come to the synagogue.
Konchitz urges the public to contribute to the renovation of the synagogue, which is a brand plucked from the Holocaust. The contributions can be transferred to the Jewish Center.
The Auschwitz camp site is to be renovated and Jewish communities around the world have contributed a sum of 99 million Euros to restore and maintain the Auschwitz death camp.
