Elior Chen affair: mother wants custody of four of her children

The mother involved in the case of abuse of Elior Chen and his children, filed three weeks ago an application to the Family Court in Jerusalem, in which she requires to get custody of four of her children, defined as minors.

The mother was considered involved in abuse when the affair was exposed, as it turned out that she knew about it and did nothing to stop it, but now she wants to return to her children. The request was submitted to the court after the mother finished serving her five year sentence within the country witness agreement conducted.

Last May she was released from prison, had restoration procedure, and all that time the children stayed with the father, who was not involved in their abuse, but now she filed for custody of the four children, including a child who was hospitalized with severe head injury, now six years old. By the way, the child remains hospitalized in a coma and suffers severe mental handicap.

Recalling, this is one of the worst cases of child abuse that occurred in the country. The story began 5 years ago, when a one year old baby was hospitalized with severe head injury. Police investigation found that Rabbi Elior Chen and his followers would regularly abuse eight children of the same mother, while she was fully aware of it, but did nothing to prevent it, and did not report it to anyone.

After Chen escaped from the authorities and fled to Brazil, the mother was arrested and convicted of abusing her children by default since she did nothing to prevent the act. She has signed an agreement to state and served her five years in prison, in light of the judge's decision that "one cannot understand how a mother can give her hand to such acts."
