Rabbinical Committee surrendered: Will present Kosher Smartphone

Announcement for businessmen, executives, journalists and those from the ultra-Orthodox community, who need technology services with a mobile device, and have so far refrained from holding the non kosher device: Rabbis communications committee is going to launch in the near future a Smartphone, it can receive e-mail, GPS services and applications that will allow them access to essential services such as banks, government offices, gas stations and more.

After the kosher BlackBerry - unlike the valid devices which presents their logo 'Approved', this state's 'protected' or 'filtered', it is the turn of the new device, which will not access text messages between mobile devices.

The Rabbinical committee, conscious of the business needs of the Orthodox community, are engaged in tailoring communication technology solutions, whereas until now allowed those in need for financial support, and by orders of his rabbis, to use the online network in the office, provided that the user be logged on to give service which will grant strict filtering on content and sites where you can browse, however, those who need web services on the road, have so far not found a satisfactory solution, to win the approval of the Commission.

One of the latest developments from the College of the Commission was a chip called 'Net-Stick', which allows receiving e-mail on your laptop, without online network connection. But even here it was understood that such a response is not sufficient.

"We absolutely understand and know the Haredi public's intellectual needs for portable services on the roads, which he cannot abstain, for which we are dealing and now developing a device that will absolutely cater different needs and on the other hand will allow the preservation of the codes and values we care about as a Haredi community." Committee sources say.

So as not to completely kosherize the 'insect', the device will not allow browsing unnecessary sites. A list of filtered applications will be available to the user to choose from, which he can download according to needs. At this stage, a decision has not yet been made by the Committee, if to attach an operating system allowing users to search other districts such as factories, offices, professional services, service 144 and so on.

What will the device not include?
The committee has already set a number of negatives on the device:

"Let it be clear. There is no Internet. Google's search engine will not appear here. The device is not intended for culture and leisure. But we are examining other options that will allow expansion of the functions already confirmed on the device, so that users will keep away from the Smartphone's banned by the Gedolei Yisrael. The community deserves to receive service, but not at the expense of values."

The advanced device, which is now being tested, is a product of Orange, which assimilated the product among its customers, where it serves as a phone. Rabbis Committee, which realized that you cannot return to the days of the 'Palm' which has long not been produced, decided to adopt a specifically advanced device, to remove a voice from those who argued, 'we must advance with technology'.

The device was delivered to the ISP and software training, Netiv Company, and another outside company to completely neutralize the cellular option, and develop elements tailored exclusively for approved devices, starting from the home page and the operating system to various applications. The technicians are trying to reach maximal characterization of the device, to make sure what must be neutralized and sterilized and which functions and content can be left to develop and upgrade.

At this point, it has not yet been decided who will be the company that markets the device. Those battling for the sale are both Orange Company who is responsible for its manufacture, and Netiv that was requested by the Commission to draw it for the Haredi public. The product which is currently in 'pilot', among committee members, will be marketed to the public in the near future, at the end stage of development and migration.
