Sunday: appointment of a new Chairman for the 'Yeshiva Board'

Since the death of Rabbi Asher Tenenbaum zt"l, chairman of the Yeshiva Board, an official appointee to replace the link between the IDF and yeshiva world, has not yet taken place.

B'Chadrei Charedim has learned that on Sunday the legal leaders of the Yeshiva Board-Hgr"sh Wosner and Hgr"n Karelitz, went up to the house of Hgray"l Steinman at 5 Chazon Ish Street in Bnei Brak - to make the decision on the appointment of the replacing chairman.

The replacement who is apparently acceptable on all Gedolei Yisrael, and has long been involved in the ongoing management of the Yeshiva Board, is Rabbi Chaim Aaron Kaufman, an Amshinov chassid and Rabbi of Maalot Dafna neighborhood in Jerusalem. Rabbi Kaufman is the son in law of Rabbi Asher Tenenbaum zt"l.

Rabbi Kaufman has already gone up after the death of his father in law to the house of Hgr"n Karelitz, who is desires his appointment, who informed him that he would like to impose on him the weighty role.

The Yeshiva Board is the body which certifies, among other things, the deferment for yeshiva students.
