Moshe Aryeh Friedman, who fought through the courts in Antwerp, to put his children in ultra-Orthodox institutions in the city, left his apartment in the center of the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood last week, and moved with his family to a different rented apartment.
Just a week ago the Belze chasidus recorded a victory in the war against Friedman, when the court accepted the appeal filed by the school administration, Bnos Yerushalayim, and overturned the decision that forced the school to teach the two sons of Friedman along with the students.
B'Chadrei Charedim learned that last Thursday the Friedman family packed their bags and moved to the city center. "They were in a rented apartment in the center of the neighborhood which is home to most of the ultra-Orthodox to a neighborhood where no Jews reside," said a resident of Antwerp to B'Chadrei Charedim.
Concerning the reason for the departure of the Friedman's from the religious neighborhood – there are divided opinions.
One version claims that recently the landlord sued him demanding that he pay the rent for several months of living in it. The landlord argued that Friedman did not pay, so he had to go and rent another apartment, "hoping they won't think he is a thief".
Another version, by Belzer sources, argues that Friedman left the ultra orthodox neighborhood in light of the sentence on his children. "The main thing is that he is out of our region, we hope he will leave Belgium completely", commented one of them.
The response of Moshe Aryeh Friedman could not be received up until now.
