Huge scandal in Europe: horse meat is sold as beef

Horse meat riot found in beef meat in Britain continues to stir the whole of Europe.

The scandal was exposed last Tuesday, when the UK supermarket chain removed packages of meat products from its shelves after lab tests revealed they contain the remains of horse meat.

More than anything the affair hit the Muslim population which forbids eating horse meat. Among others it was also suspected that such meat was divided amongst Muslim prisoners.

On Friday, it became clear that horse meat was also discovered in Sweden and France. Later it turned out that it is also donkey meat.

French consumer minister, Benoit Hemon, said that he fears that the deception has been continuing since last August, and rolled from then about 300 thousand Euros. He said he would not hesitate to take legal action, if it turns out the French treated meat companies were aware of the fraud.

France is now investigating the meat's trail before reaching the country. According to estimates, the source of the meat is in Romania. After the state recently banned the movement of animals on the roads, and millions of animals were sold to the slaughterhouse.

From Romania the meat moved to Holland and then to meat factories in France and Luxembourg, where it was processed into frozen meals.

Due to the scandal, there is increased demand for meat under Jewish supervision. Recorded demand mainly from the Muslim population.
