230 passengers who were on Flight 16 of Lot Airlines from New York to Poland were expecting the worst: the landing gear did not open and the pilot was forced to land on the airplanes belly.
No pilot could ever land a plane safely on its belly, and landings always ended in a crash and disaster. Now, for the first time, the pilot was able to accomplish the task, and all the passengers arrived home safely.
This is also why the documentation has survived the dramatic landing, which was aired tonight on Channel 10.
