Panic in the Hesders: orders sent to students
פלאש 90

IDF sent a draft notice for next month to hundreds of freshmen in Hesder Yeshiva, for which they are called for full service next month, reports Channel 7.

The move, was made without coordination with the Yeshiva Union, and caused a storm among the rabbis.

According to the procedure at the Hesder Yeshivas, joining the track takes place at the end of the first year at the Yeshiva, and until today, students received delay, on the basis of 'Torato Umanuto'.

They then join the Hesder for a period of four years in which they serve eighteen months in active service and two and a half years are engaged in Torah study.
Due to lack of manpower in the March recruitment, orders were sent for next month – for full service.

The Hesder Yeshiva Union sent a letter to the yeshiva heads saying that, "The army has a great shortage of soldiers for this upcoming March for several reasons. The army made the decision to send orders to all students who had a rejection. By one sided measure without our knowledge and without the cooperation of the union the army preceded their recruitment to next March".

Union officials have been reassured that there is an agreement with the IDF that, students who join the service will receive rejection given according to conventional procedures. Roshei Yeshivas asked their students to hurry up and sign up for the Hesder before the end of the year.
