Pandemic: Girl from Elad sick with Swine Flu • serious condition

Swine flu pandemic continues to spread, even in the Haredi sector: two days ago a 10 years old from Elad was hospitalized in Tel Hashomer suffering from the flu. Her condition is severe and getting worse.

Earlier this week the girl's parents saw that their daughter was unwell. Her symptoms were similar to seasonal flu - high fever, weakness and fatigue, but her condition was deteriorating rapidly.

The girl was taken to the hospital - where she was hospitalized in intensive care, sedated and on a respirator.

An investigation conducted by B'Chadrei Charedim indicates that the situation today (Wednesday), continues to be difficult. Haredi activists intervened to raise expedited treatment for the child.

Health officials now fear that other members of her class at Ohel Miriam Vizhnitz School in Elad were infected. The school management acted quickly to vaccinate all students who came in contact with her in recent days.

Today (Wednesday) the parents of the child asked to pray for her full recovery: Zissel bat Rivka Devora for a refua shleima.
