In test systems for joint work in several locations simultaneously, an additional Iron Dome battery, third in number, was placed today (Tuesday) in the north.
During the morning hours, the IDF completed placing the battery, and tests. Systems so far were in Haifa and Safed, and now placed another system.
This is the most extensive placing of the Iron Dome batteries in the north since Israel has achieved the ability to torpedo rockets with a battery.
Defense Ministry referred to placement of the third battery system and said to Walla News that as part of the progress in developing the system, they are continuously exploring the possibility of working with various threats, including joint work of several batteries simultaneously.
The source rejected the assessment that placing high concentration systems is related to threats made in the north last week from Syria, following reports in the foreign media that the Israeli Air Force attacked a battery of SA-17 missiles in Syria.
The IDF said that the system is in the process of operational integration.
