Youngster abandoned and returned • story which excites Toldos Avraham Yitzchok chassidim

The story which excites Toldos Avraham Yitzchak: a boy who became secular, returned to the chassidus following things he heard from the Rebbe - during Shalosh Seudos last Shabbos in Manchester.

The Rebbe went to England to fundraise for his institutions as on every year, staying in Manchester at Rabbi Binyamin Lebrecht, who usually hosts Rebbes and rabbis at his residence.

The youngster, whose family is not chassidish, came two years ago to study in Israel, found himself at the Beis Midrash of the Rebbe. He listened to divrei Torah. Heard Shabbos songs. Was present at a Tish for the first time and was fascinated. He began to approach the world of Hasiddus. The short suit and "kneitch" hat were replaced by a long suit and chassidishe hat. The short peyos which fringed his temporal head, grew and extended and became curly and beautiful. He became a chossid with his entire being.

But a year and a half ago, the excitement dissipated. The flame which characterized him cooled. The young man became totally secular and abandoned the heritage. He broke off contact with the world around him and no one knew what was happening with him.

Last Shabbos, at Shalosh Seudos, he entered the Beis Midrash in which the Rebbe held his Tisch. The Rebbe started the tune "Vesigale visira'e", based on music from the Beis Midrash of the holy Rebbe of Rozhin zy"a.

The young man stood still and suddenly the ice melted. He buried his face in his hands, trying to hide the hot tears began to leak from his eyes. The young man asked to meet with the Rebbe, and the next day on Sunday the Rebbe met with him. After a long while the man left the room, his face flushed and his eyes red from crying. The turnaround occurred, the circle closed again and the former chossid returned home.
