Intelligence services of Venezuela are busy tracking the Jewish community in the country, according to documents leaked to Argentina.
analisis24, Argentine news site, leaked 50 documents privileged to the intelligence agency of Venezuela and contains personal information about prominent Jews in Venezuela, local Jewish organizations and Israeli diplomats in Latin America.
ADL experts believe that the documents are genuine and it seems they contain detailed and precise information.
The documents include photos taken secretly, passport numbers and driving directions. According to the documents the local Jewish community encourages political and military intervention by the United States in matters of South America, accusing that prominent figures in the community are foreign agents.
ADL expressed concern that in their opinion the publication proves anti-Semitism among government officials in the state.
"It is chilling to read the reports, in the country where the government accuses the Jewish community of disloyalty and community institutions were attacked, such reports add fuel to the fire."
