Habayit Hayehudi: Lapid's layout, reasonable • Deri: We will seek a solution

Just before the opening of official coalition negotiations in Kfar Maccabiah in Ramat Gan the Yesh Atid party will demand to enact the Lapid layout for equal burden according to law - say seniors at the Habayit Hayehudi party, that the proposed layout is reasonable which could form the basis for resolving the issue.

However, Habayit Hayehudi say that there are two sections in Lapid's layout which require repair: the first is the number of yeshiva students who will be exempt from conscription, even after the first five years of the plan, in which Lapid currently proposes 400 students, while Habayit Hayehudi clarify that the amount is too small, and that they will require increasing the number.

The second section which requires correction by Habayit Hayehudi is recruiting girls to the army. According to the Lapid's layout, the draft will also apply to women, while Habayit Hayehudi will seek to keep recruiting the girls to the military on a voluntary basis, and religious Zionist girls will have the option to volunteer to national service.

However, Habayit Hayehudi say that if it turns out that Naftali Bennett coordinated with Lapid on relative positions of equality law burden, this may provoke opposition from the rabbis of the party. Recall that last July some of the important national-religious rabbis – Rabbi Dov Lior, Rabbi Eliakim Levanon, Rabbi Zvi Yisrael Tau, Rabbi Shlomo Aviner - wrote letters to crack down on the conclusions of Plessner, and stated that "especially now, given that the state of Israel and the spiritual dangers are extremely difficult, so it is doubly important to increase Torah study and support the learners."

Meanwhile, Aryeh Deri referred this morning on his Facebook page about the opening of coalition talks with Likud Beitenu representatives - and wrote: "We intend to make every effort to facilitate the solution of the issue of equality burden to avoid rupture" - but did not write how he intends to bridge the deep divisions between the parties.

In an interview with Army Radio Deri said: "We agree that we must deal with this problem of increasing equality, on the other hand it must be done through understanding and not through coercion that would rupture and won't help." Deri also addressed in his interview claims that Lapid would like to see Shas remaining outside the coalition, saying that if there is no dialogue about recruiting - Shas will be in the opposition.

A senior at Likud says to B'Chadrei Charedim that Netanyahu is not going to give up on the ultra-Orthodox, even if the cost will be Yair Lapid not joining the coalition. He said that Netanyahu will not allow the fate of the government to depend on Lapid, and that if the Yesh Atid party chairman insists not to give up on the issue of equal burden, which will cause the charedim to stay in the opposition - Netanyahu prefers natural partnership with the Orthodox. "The Prime Minister wants the ultra-Orthodox and Lapid, and he expects that the parties will be flexible in order that everyone can sit together."
