Over the recent days all the party leaders are climbing high 'trees', as part of the negotiations of course. The premise is that during the negotiations, each one slowly descends the ladder he had set up himself, and lands on the ground.
Today (Sunday) former chairman of Israel Beiteinu Avigdor Lieberman, prepared his ladder.
At his party's parliamentary group meeting he said that "Israel Our Home" will focus primarily on changing the system of government, a topic which the party had engraved on its flag since its inception. This topic will be determined in the guidelines of the next government without wasting time on various governance committees.
"According to the proposal we will submit, the head of the largest party automatically becomes the Prime Minister, about 18 ministers will serve in the government and four deputy ministers, ministers will not serve as MKs and this will ensure the separation of powers, the elected Prime Minister would not have to approve his government in the Knesset; the overthrow of a Prime Minister will only be by a special majority of 80 Knesset members, the lack of approval of budget will not dissolve the Knesset; no confidence offers shall be submitted only when signed by 61 MKs and raising the threshold to 3%.
"Regarding the additional flags which we spoke about: equality of burden, affordable housing and cost of living – we will continue to operate, and unlike others, we not only talked but we did. Israel Beiteinu is the only party which drafted a law for the equality of burden and voted for it without exception."
It is likely that in the joint meeting of Likud - Beiteinu, to be held on Tuesday morning, Lieberman will play other songs, more softened.
