Large swastikas were painted on a yeshiva in Toronto, Canada

The staff of the educational institution "Mishkan HaTorah" in Toronto was shocked to discover large swastikas painted on the walls of the institution on Friday.

Police were called to the scene, collected evidence and promised to handle the matter.

The director expressed concern over the incident, as this is the second time in a series of anti-Semitic incidents against the yeshiva, with the clear intention to scare the children and their parents.

Following the incident, the yeshiva principal demanded tight police security during all school hours.

Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Jason Kenney, and Natural Resources Minister, Joe Oliver, condemned in a joint statement the "anti-Semitic vandalism" at the yeshiva.

Their announcement said: "We condemn in the most emphatic way this act of hatred against a respected educational institution. Every act of vandalism is unfortunate, but vandalism directed against a particular religion or race is especially despicable and has no place in Canada, a peaceful and pluralistic nation which sanctifies freedom of religion and the rule of law.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the students and faculty of Yeshivat Mishkan HaTorah, the Jewish community of Toronto and any person who was harmed by this cowardly act.

"The Government will continue to condemn in an equivocal way any expressions of the ancient and evil anti-Semitism in Canada and abroad. We hope that the cowardly fanatics, who are responsible for this action intended to intimidate, will be caught and punished."

It should be noted that a year ago the words "Islam will rule" were sprayed on the walls of the synagogue "Beit Tikvah" in the area.

The police finds it hard to locate the criminals and the Haredi community continues to live in constant fear of anti-Semites who continue their activities.
