A suicide bomber blew himself up today (Friday) a little while ago at the entrance to the U.S. embassy in Ankara, Turkey.

According to the initial report: The blast killed two people - one of them is likely to be the terrorist, and wounded at least seven other people. Minor damage was caused to the side of the building.

According to the sources, the attack occurred in the embassy's guard booth, one of the guards pushed the terrorist apparently - and the last immediately activated the cargo carried on his body.

At about 13:30 a loud explosion was heard, a little later the local police reported that it was a suicide bombing.



Turkish News Network, Duggan, said that dozens of mobile fire fighters and ambulances were called to the scene.

The AP news agency journalist reported that he saw a body on the street at a side entrance to the embassy in Ankara. Another journalist said to Sky News network: "There was a huge explosion, which shook the entire area." He said he was in his car - just 400 meters from the U.S. Embassy when the blast occurred.

According to an eyewitness, a woman employee of the embassy was mortally wounded in the explosion, and another person was seriously injured.
