Haredim requested - and ceremony at Presidential Home postponed to Motzaei Shabbos

On Motzaei Shabbos there will be a formal ceremony at which President Shimon Peres is expected to cast the role of the government on the current Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, after 82 MKs endorsed his candidacy. From all the Knesset factions there was no one who supported another nomination and the factions of Labor, Meretz, The Movement and Arabs chose not to recommend anyone.

The event itself will begin at 20:00 pm, and will include a letter of appointment and joint speeches.

The event was scheduled for today - Friday, and its postponement for Saturday night was following the request of the hareidi factions, who asked not to cause the desecration of Shabbos.

But the fact that the strict inspection guidelines led the President to inform the media that they can reach the place from ten minutes after Shabbos - drew criticism that this too will lead to the desecration of Shabbos because of the need to organize in advance.

At the President's home they reject the allegations and state that all the preparations will begin only half an hour after Shabbos, and moreover most of the office workers and security officers are Shomrei Shabbos.
