Hagaon Rabbi Meir Stern, the Rabbi of Meron, collapsed tonight in his son's hometown in Elad, (Tuesday) on Yonatan Ben Uziel Street, and lost consciousness.
Hatzalah medics arrived, they began performing respiratory resuscitation on the Rabbi for about 10 minutes, at the end of which he regained consciousness, and spoke to those around him.
Reb Moshe Stern, who had experienced a mild stroke, was evacuated by Mobile Intensive Care Unit of the Magen David Adom, to the hospital, Sheba Tel Hashomer, for further treatment.
Koby Haritan, a medic at Hatzalah Gush Dan, who treated the Rabbi said: "We found the rabbi unconscious. Initially it was not clear if it was a cardiac background, or the rabbi fell and hurt himself. We gave him oxygen assistance during the first moments, and then he regained consciousness, he was evacuated whilst fully conscious and communicating to the Tel Hashomer hospital where they will examine the circumstances."
The public are called to pray for the speedy recovery of Rabbi Meir Zev Ben Rivka.
