TGI data for 2012 gives the lead to Kol Berama, with 4.8%, compared with 4.6% for Kol Chai • but in the second half of the year - the trend reversed: Kol Chai won by half a percentage

Revolution in the listening habits of the Haredi public to the radio stations facing the sector? According to TGI, a revolution occurred in the summit, at least according to the trend in the last six months.


Radio station Kol Berama, which was considered so far the most listened to religious station - lost the lead competitor, to Kol Chai, for the first time since the second half of 2010, although according to the annual rate, Kol Berama still retains the first place. But when the focus is on the last six months – Kol Chai wins by a margin of about half a percent.

Exposure to Kol Chai in the second half of 2012 was 5.6%, a jump of 55% in 6 months (from 3.6%). Annual exposure, the station received 4.6% against 4.3% in 2011.


Kol Berama, also recorded a handsome growth of 20%, from 4.3% to 5.2% when the exposure to the station in 2012 was 4.8% compared with 4.3% the year before, and this category of calculation by year - is still a leading over Kol Chai.

Radio station Galei Yisrael, which primarily turns to the religious public, reported a nice increase - from 1% to 1.4% in the last six months. And on an annual basis - 1.2%, compared with 1.1% in 2011.


Ido Leibowitz, CEO of Radio Kol Chai said in response to the data: "Radio Kol Chai was and remains a leading radio for the orthodox public. With hard work and adapting the contents to the segment, the station will continue the momentum of regeneration and development in order to give the audience the best quality content.

Kol Berama said in response: "We are pleased to see that this is the second survey in a row where we record it again, and the end of the year Kol Berama is the largest orthodox religious station with the greatest increase in rates of listening and we pledge to continue that for our listeners in the coming years."

Yisrael Fried, CEO of Radio Galei Yisrael, said in response: "We are delighted to see the sharp increase in exposure to our station. There is no doubt that the emphasis on Zionism in the current affairs broadcasts and other programs that cause listeners a sense of identification with radio broadcasts. We will continue to invest in content and rise again in the next year "


Less than a year ago journalist Avi Rosen entered the job as program director of Radio Kol Chai. Rosen has made drastic changes in the programs of the station.

Radio Kol Chai is already active for 16 years. Kol Berama was established four years ago and quickly caught up with the rival station.
