Jerusalem: two pipe bombs, five detainees, policeman injured

During the demolition of illegal construction in Silwan, East Jerusalem, from early morning, dozens of villagers gathered and disrupted the destroying by stone throwing, assaulting police officers and physical disorder of the Border Police forces and police during the demolitions.


Forces made use of the means to disperse the crowd and arrested five suspects who attacked police and threw stones at the security forces. One policeman was injured slightly in the eye, as a result of an attack of one of the suspects who was finally arrested. The officer evacuated for medical treatment at Hadassah Har Hazofim in Jerusalem.


Meanwhile, in recent hours, two devices were identified in Jerusalem: village of al Aida near Rachel's tomb, a SJ District sapper identified a pipe bomb apparently thrown the night before, the device has been neutralized.


At the region Maazar Hazeitim, an object was tested which was suspected as a device by Warrior Police. The pipe bomb was treated and destroyed by a sapper.
