The trek which the Yesh Atid party is taking Netanyahu through continues: Following public pressure Yair Lapid's party announced tonight that they will not sit through coalition talks with Likud, as long as Natan Eshel will coordinate the negotiations on behalf of the Prime Minister, a former chief of staff in Netanyahu's office, who was dismissed from his position last year as part of an agreement with the Civil Service Commission.
Yesh Atid's message followed pre public press, which included, contact with the destined MK of Meretz Tamar Zandberg, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, and a page on Facebook joined throughout the past day by more than 3,500 visitors - calling to boycott the negotiations if administered by Eshel.
In an attorney appeal Zandberg wrote that if Eshel will participate in the formation of the coalition negotiations, "There's a difficult message for many women, it is appropriate that for the civil service a lenient punishment is not introduced, or one that is not implemented."
Petition Facebook page reads: "Eshel is going to be a part of the negotiations of the Likud assembly in the next government. Thus Prime Minister Netanyahu continues to legalize violence against women. While Natan Eshel is in office, the statement is clear. We, the women, as well as our security, are not important enough. Not important at all."
A clear requirement appeared on the Facebook page from the Yesh Atid party, that it refuses to negotiate with Eshel: "After Yair Lapid said during the debate with Aryeh Deri that he saw Deri as an offender, we require him not to cover his eyes now, and understand and clarify his refusal to Natan Eshel, the Yesh Atid party will refuse to negotiate with him."
Natan Eshel himself said tonight to Walla news, that the claims are "hypocritical". "Why should you not sit and negotiate with me, I was not convicted. The court has not convicted me. They stated that they will not sit with a person who was convicted in the government."
