Is the northern zone is warming up?
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently held assessment discussions regarding developments in Syria arsenals.
At a special meeting of the extended cabinet - security on Wednesday, a day after the general elections, Netanyahu said: "We need to look at what is happening around us, what is happening in Iran, and deadly weapons in Syria, the regime collapsed. The Middle East," he said, "I am not waiting for election results and it does not stop during the formation of the next government.
"There are a lot of threats, the most difficult I mentioned and reality continues to evolve in the east, north and south. We must be prepared, strong and determined against any possible threat. For that purpose I will seek to establish the widest and most stable government we are able to establish to meet first and foremost the security threats. I am convinced that we have the power to deal with the challenges.
Even Minister Silvan Shalom, a political - security cabinet member referred to the potential transition of weapons from Syria to Lebanon and said it was "a disturbing and dangerous possibility. There is consensus among all the countries of the free world that we must prevent leakage of chemical weapons in the hands extremism and to Hezbollah, therefore President Obama has already said, and I think with his opinion he represents the majority of the world, that this possibility will not be accepted and they will do anything to stop it because this is a dramatic change in the balance of power and the possibility of damage to the stability of the Middle East and thus the stability of the entire world."
When asked about the activities of Israel on the issue, Shalom answered "We're watching this possibility for a long time, there were a lot of discussions, and there was full cooperation between Israel and the countries of the world. This is something we must avoid, and I hope we will not reach a situation where it will leak into the wrong and irresponsible hands".
Netanyahu also met with the Minister for Home Front Defense Avi Dichter, who is replacing the defense minister who is now at an economic conference in Davos, following developments. They talked about the threat of chemical weapons held by Assad and other issues.

The IDF Spokesman said: "The Iron Dome is in process operations in which the battery is placed periodically at various sites around the country. These days, as part of the operational integration, it was moved north."
