The attorney who 'complicated' Ostreicher - house arrest

Claudia Liliana Rodriguez, the Colombian lawyer who allegedly complicated the orthodox businessman, Jacob Ostreicher, in the case that led to his imprisonment for 18 months, was released to house arrest this weekend.


Rodriguez was incarcerated in prison in May 2011. Recently, she was transferred to prison, 'Flemsula', located in the heart of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, and is considered one of the world's most dangerous prisons, where 3000 inmates are imprisoned. Even Jacob Ostreicher himself was jailed there.

Ostreicher, who served as a representative of the Swiss investment fund, went out to the site for the principal agricultural areas in Bolivia. The Colombian lawyer made the purchase of land and agricultural equipment, but refused to transfer financial statements - and Ostreicher decided to go out to Bolivia to see that everything is going well.


He discovered the land prices are significantly different from those reported by her. But Rodriguez disappeared and the Fund members offered 25 thousand dollars to anyone who would help locate her. Unfortunately for Ostreicher, it turned out that Rodriguez is related to senior mafia factors.

Some of land was purchased from the brother of one of the biggest drug barons in the south of the continent, Maximilian Dorado.
Relationship between Rodriguez and Dorado put felcn into the picture (National Anti-Drug Unit). They raided the lawyer's apartment and found her business documents linking her to the mafia and arrested her and the orthodox businessman.

Recently, after more than 18 months in jail, Ostreicher was released to house arrest. Under those same conditions, according to the state court's decision, the lawyer was also released last weekend under financial guarantees and strict house arrest conditions.
