The bride of a yeshiva student, 21, who was seriously injured last week and sustained serious head injury in a car accident in Bayit Vegan, Jerusalem, asks her friends and acquaintances to take on chizuk for his recovery: "Pray! so that in a month we'll be able to stand under the chuppah healthy, safe and happy."
On Monday the yeshiva bochur – who is engaged to the daughter of a mayor of a large Haredi city and whose wedding is supposed to take place in about a month – was hit by a passing taxi. At the Hadassah Hospital, Ein Karem, he underwent head surgery and in consultation with Gedolei Yisroel he was given the additional name Raphael.
"Dear friend", the kallah wrote in a short and thrilling letter, "Even if you do not know my chosson .... but you've probably heard the story and it touched your heart and you said a chapter of Tehillim, and got chizuk .... (and I thank and appreciate that).
"I feel the need to strengthen another issue that we, all of us, can strengthen for my chosson who is in need of yeshua, and for all Am Yisroel who needs rights ... Let us accpept upon ourselves the issue of blessings, to have great kavonah (take a blessing or a certain time of the day when the blessings will be said with greater kanovah) and it will be credited to Refael Mordechai Bunim ben Shulamit."
She ends the request with hope: "So that we can stand, in about a month, under the chuppah healthy, safe and happy. I would be glad if you'd pass on and strengthen your family and acquaintances. Thank you!".
On Friday, his family and friends disseminated a request to bring in Shabbos earlier for his recovery.
Tonight (Motzaei Shabbos) a public prayer is held at the Western Wall dedicated to the recovery of the yeshiva bochur.
Daven for: Refael Mordechai Bunim ben Shulamit.
