The senior gabbai of Satmar •Rabbi Zechariah Breunar z"l
Rabbi Zechariah Breunar z"l, leader of the Satmar community in Borough Park, and the owner of the Breunar bakery, who served as gabbai and Baal Tefilla of Satmar passed away in the U.S., he was 90 years old at his passing

Rabbi Zechariah Breunar z"l a leader of the Satmar community in Borough Park, passed away after a short illness, at the age of 90.
Rabbi Breunar was born in Ratzfart in Hungary and was a chassid of the Rebbes of Sigott. After the war he immigrated to New York where he became close to the Rebbe the Duvrei Yoel of Satmar zt"l, and when he moved in Borough Park the Rebbe appointed him to serve as gabbai of the large Beit Midrash of Satmar in the neighborhood, a position he held for more than 50 years. The deceased also served as Baal Tefilla during the Yomim Noraim. He later helped the Rebbe the Baruch Moshe of Satmar to buy and open the Beit Midrash, Sigott in the neighborhood.
For his livelihood he opened a bakery in the neighborhood, known as Breunar Bakery.
As gabbai of the Beit Midrash he conducted the community, and was the first in תשנ"ט who went out against the dispute in Satmar, and fought so fiercely and bravely against those wishing to vandalize the vineyard. In addition, he was the first to present a kvittel to the present Satmar Rebbe.
The funeral will leave from the great Beit Midrash of Satmar in the neighborhood, on 53 street.
