Mourning in Sderot: Rabbi Yehuda Haimov, the Bukharian rabbi in town, was killed in a car accident.
Rabbi Yehuda Haimov zt"l, was critically wounded when his vehicle overturned between Sderot and Beror Chayil. He was taken to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon.
MDA spokesman Zaki Heller said that at 23:30 MDA Lachish received a report that the car apparently collided with a traffic sign at the exit to Sderot towards the direction of Beror Chayil near the Osem factory. MDA teams provided medical care for the rabbi who was wounded in the head and another person who was mildly injured. Both were evacuated by mobile intensive care units to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, but all efforts by doctors at the hospital to save him - failed.
During the last twenty years he served as neighborhood Rabbi in Sderot, and as Rabbi of the Bukharin community in the city, consisting of Baalei Teshuva and gave his life for the sake of Torah classes for the community.
He dedicated his life to the public, treated the deceased and eruv affiars, and cared for needy families.
He raised a beautiful family. He is survived by his wife and seven children.
The funeral will take place at 10:00 at the cemetery in Sderot.
