Shock: Sifrei kodesh burned at the tomb of the Kratshnif Rebbe

The charedi community in the city of Rechovot was shocked yesterday (Tuesday) to find sifrei kodesh vandalized and set on fire by vandals in the woods near the Kratshnif yeshiva in the city.


Last night, yeshiva students saw a fire in the woods near the yeshiva dormitory. The students rushed to the scene and put out the fire for fear of spreading.


After the fire was extinguished it became clear that sifrei kodesh, including tehillim were burned. The boys were amazed and removed the burnt pages from the woods.

In the morning it was discovered that sifrei kodesh were also burned at the tomb of the Kratshnif Rebbe zt"l, "there is a big chance there is a connection between the cases," say locals.


The police were called, they collected evidence - and launched an investigation into the incident.


Only a week ago vandals in Ohr Yehuda set on fire the books of Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, son of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef. Police arrested the suspect in the case and released him on bail after questioning.
