Shock: Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef's books were burned • Hgr"sh Amar: moral decline

Tonight, books written by Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, Rosh Yeshiva of Chazon Ovadia were found burned on one of the streets of Ohr Yehuda. Shas leader Aryeh Deri, arrived at the scene and held a demonstration and recited Tehillim.

Shas point an accusing finger to the activists at Koach Lehashpia. According to them, they are behind the burning of the books. Shas activists cite witnesses confirming the claim, but there is no confirmation - and there are different versions about the identity of those who placed the books on fire.

Koach Lehashpia reacted with shock to the charge. "Koach Lehashpia and / or its agents and / or activists had no hand in this nefarious act. It is unthinkable that at a time of shutting down our differences between us and the Shas Party such a criminal and such a heinous act will be carried out by those on our behalf.

"We love the Maran and we said it's not once and we reiterate it now. This is an act of stakeholders who wish to inflame passions and cause the blasphemy in addition to what was caused so far.

"We condemn the act and those who carried it and as we stated, none of us and / or those on our behalf had any hand in the matter."

The current election has dragged violence between the parties. First with internal active violence – Yishai's activists against Deri's activists and conversely, continued to a diversification lecture by Rabbi Amnon Yitzchak in Beit Shemesh and spraying tear gas that caused panic and flee from the audience, and reached a peak of burning halacha books.

From examination of the Tel Aviv police, the suspect's identity is known but has not yet been arrested. A complaint was filed with the police by Shas chairman in Ohr Yehuda at the police station.

Meanwhile, this morning graffiti was discovered "Yigal Amir was right" on the exterior walls of the party on Hamasger Street in Tel Aviv. Inscriptions were discovered - by headquarters staff, in two different places at the front of the building.

Chairman, Tzipi Livni condemned the spraying of graffiti.

The Rishon Lezion, Hgr"sh Amar published a letter of rebuke today, following the burning of holy books in Ohr Yehuda.

"Know Am Yisrael that even during the election period we are commanded to be respect of each other, and to avoid embarrassing and other prohibitions between people, and these things are very serious," began the rabbi and said: "I heard with regret that there are those who set out and destroyed holy books and passed on the Torah mitzvahs, 'thou shall not do so to Hashem your G-d', what will things come to. Woe to the ears who hear this and who’s heart does not tremble at hearing this terrible rumor, which indicates serious moral decline, May Hashem have mercy."
