Obama sworn into second term

The one who enters history as the first black president of the United States, entered his second term: U.S. President Barack Obama, officially started his second term in office today (Sunday).

Obama was sworn in on the new term by the President of the Supreme Court of the United States, John Roberts, in a small and intimate ceremony at the White House.

The ceremony took place in the "Blue Room" of the White House and the only ones at the U.S. president inauguration were his family: his wife Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia, and very few reporters who came to cover the event.

Due to the fact that Obama's inauguration date falls on a Sunday, which a day of rest in the United States, the large and glittering swearing-in ceremony will only be held tomorrow, and many Americans who will view their president enter his term for another four years, are expected to arrive.

Earlier, Obama announced the appointment of Chuck Hegel as his candidate for the next Secretary of Defense of the United States. That is, despite strong opposition from pro-Israeli elements, following positions which Hegel sounded previously, including when he went against attack on Iran, and said that "relations of the United States should not come at the expense of relations with the Arab and Muslim world."
